Oakley Transitions lenses provide optical versatility
In cycling, the choice of optics for a given day can be as important as whether or not to pack a rain jacket. Pick a lens tint that is too dark for a shaded forest and risk missing that tree hanging out into the trail while descending at top speed. Pick a lens tint that is too light and risk susceptibility to blinding road glare on a four ride through the country. For some riders, these decisions can enhance the quality of a ride or provide a notable annoyance as visual clarity is compromised. At the same time, changing lenses out constantly can be frustrating, especially with a temperamental season such as spring.
Enter the Transitions and Photochromatic series from Cheap oakley sunglasses. With different lens tints that span a wide array of lighting conditions, Oakley ensures that the only decision to be made is where to ride. With four different options to choose from, there is a tint for wherever you ride, each covering a lighting range from extremely low light to full on glare.
For off road riders, Oakley offers the VR50 and Black Persimmon Iridium tints that are more amber in base and highlight off road colors such as browns and greens, providing more contrast on the trail. These tints can be worn on road as well and the black iridium coating on the persimmon based lenses cuts glare from the sun to a minimum.
For the road going set and those that prefer a neutral (no contrast) tint, Replica Oakley sunglasses offers the G40 and the new for 2011 clear black iridium tints. The G40 lens is rose colored in base and highlights road colors such as yellows and reds and makes for increased contrast. The clear black iridium lenses have the widest range of all the photochromatic lenses and can be worn in every lighting condition from night riding to full on sunlight. The black iridium coating cuts glare and the neutral gray-based lens offers a wide range of darkening without increasing optical contrast.
Each lens is available in the Radar, Jawbone, Split Jacket and Flak Jacket line. The Jawbone and Flak Jacket variety are made by the company Transitions. The Transitions lenses offer a bit quicker shift through the range of darkness, but the Radar variety performs admirably. Each tint gives riders fantastic optical range without the hassle of switching lenses out for every ride. With one less piece of preparation before a ride, riders can squeeze a few extra minutes out of a day on the bike.
